The Course (Satisfaction Guaranteed or Full Refund)
This course demonstrates the required response to crisis situations that are both practical and flexible as well as being easy to understand. A crisis is usually unforeseen and most often has to be dealt with using limited, or inadequate, resources. Most Companies already have crisis management procedures in place however it is common that when an actual critical incident occurs, nobody knows how the plan should be implemented. A Crisis Management Plan can sometimes sadly be a document that simply sits on a shelf in an office.
This course uses case studies of critical incidents from the business and corporate world including the Australian Longford Esso Gas Plant Explosion and the crash of a Boeing 737 airliner to examine good and bad examples of Response Management and mis-management’.
Whilst most companies use theory based training, 360BSI uses true to life training scenarios that require course participants to make decisions under difficult and stressful conditions whilst under the guidance of our professional and experienced instructors.
In any crisis response planning, the first thing to ask is “what possible critical incidents could we face?” The second is “what resources do we have, or need to obtain, to deal with each of these possible scenarios?”
This programme will teach the core skills needed so that delegates can react instinctively to a serious incident. The training is both realistic and practical – with the best chance of success, when the unexpected happens.
The course covers the following areas:
- Regulatory Environments
- Communications: Problems and Solutions
- Failure to Identify Hazards
- What is Operator error
- Handling Stress in a Crisis
- FEMA Threat/Vulnerability Assessment and Risk Analysis
- Occupational health and safety
- Crisis Management Plans
- Designing Reporting Systems
- Critical Incident Staff Selection
- Media Management
These are not "theory based" workshops. Participants are required to make split second decisions under realistic scenario conditions using techniques that are learnt during the course. The workshops include a number of major exercises in a realistic environment where participants are required to assess situations, conduct briefings, manage team members, formulate plans and then put those plans into action.
Our training is designed so that course participants are exposed to true to life critical incident scenarios so that they can be confident in making decisions during an actual Response.
